Is the Occult Evil or Bad?

Why do so many relate to the Occult being an Evil or Bad word..? Is it because so many are afraid of what is hidden or is it because when people do not understand a topic it is easy to just label it this way and get on with life.. Personally I think the study of the unknown, is a personal aspect many of us should reflect on, even if it is only for a short part of our lives..

Firstly if the Occult was evil or bad would that mean all religion is bad..? I mean we can’t all understand the hidden meanings to religion’s so does that mean we should put it in this category as well..?

Secondly if the Occult was bad or evil would that mean that every time we experienced something we did not fully understand, that it is an evil experience, or does it mean that we are bad..? It’s like you delved into something, others do not get so, so oh my gosh, that is so bad (or evil.. :))..

Is it a Fear of Understanding the Occult for some People..?

All these thoughts about the Occut being like this raise so many fear issues with the world that makes it harder to understand it more.. I think partly major religions such as the Catholic church are to blame for these ruling of what is evil or good.. I remember when I was a young teenager, I used to read a lot about many aspects of the Occult and had many books on the subject. They were all interesting reads mainly focused on meditation, trance and astral experiences. Basically they were all harmless.

Religion and the Occult

One time I lent some of these books out (and they were not cheap mind you) to my girlfriend (Connie) at the time and her parents found her reading them. The book she was reading was mainly about meditation and trance, a favourite of mine and her parents grabbed it off her and burnt the book… They claimed anything that was not Christian or Catholic was the work of the Devil or the Occult.. When I found out I was so upset and confused.. I mean they were all books focused on healing meditation and trance, two focuses Jesus used with his disciples.. The only difference is Jesus called it praying.. And lastly when people claim the Occult as a bad act, does n’t that put all religion under the same boat when you think about it, the Occult meaning the study of the all paranormal and hidden..

What I later concluded about this was that this was there own personal fears that created the reaction, it is sad when this sort of thing happens. They could of just simply stopped and thought about it them selves without putting religion first and then only a positive aspect would have been seen.. However that is life I guess.. 🙂

What do you think.. Is the Occult Evil or Bad?

  1. This is not a matter of what i think about. But occult is plainly evil. BECAUSE their so- called deeper truth leads into unreasonable freewill and hence lawlessness. Lawlessness has caused various kind of terrorism and other diabolical acts since they are taught of no accountability to any god or deity. So if there is nothing like that why should one limits oneself of any pleasure or wish. And so eventually leading towards greed and against humanity!

    • Hey Sasu,
Thanks for the comment but I disagree. Many people have the same reaction as you, however when we look at the exact meaning of the word occult, it is the study of the unknown, this means that all religion, all spiritual, all paranormal, all thoughts we cannot prove as theory is the occult. Occult understanding is more the boundaries of what we cannot see, it is neither evil nor good, that depends on the persons or individual thoughts or action of practice.. Greed is also an aspect of the mind just as is being good or evil.
As an example Christianity is a study within the Occult, as is all forms of religion as it is a study of the unknown or what cannot be proved. Whereas it is not evil, studying deep space theory is the study of unknown theories until proven, but that is not considered evil.. That choice of evil is decided by the individual no matter where they are from..
      I hope this helps..

Yes and No. The occult hierarchy is about extreme control (hence our society) and extreme law, and the rearranging of nature and “perfecting” it. When the antichrist is crowned head of the New World Order, you will see total control meets lawlessness. These are not my words they are the words of our occultist world leaders and the scriptures (see below).

One thing I agree with you about is someone who is “illuminated” and thinks they are a god(head) is capable of “diabolical acts” and proclaims no “accountability.”

The occult is the forbidden fruit of the Garden of Eden. The Kabbalah is the tree of life, of good and evil, of opposites and it appears to cause massive corruption and diabolical ambition (Talmudic Jew’s, Jacobian Freemasons and Theosophists etc)

  2. Thank you for clarifying this topic. I was interested in learning about the occult. I live in this small town though, with Christian churches on every block, and I’ve been told many times that the occult was evil and bad. I’m not concerned anymore about the occult being evil or any of that crap. Thanks again. =)

  3. I’m so new to this. I’ve pretty much given up on any organized religions. I understand they’ve all been written by man. When I watch tv I see how many events are taken out of context from the true reality of which they are happening. To see how events are taken in different ways by others. The bible can be taken in so many different ways which it has to create more offspring religions of Christianity. All these religions have been written by man. Not by a supreme being. So I have absolutely no idea what to believe at all. If you believe in Jesus…you’ll go to heaven. If not, you go to hell. If your a muslim and you kill Americans…you get a bunch of virgins in the afterlife. This is all garbage. It’s people twisting the words of their own religion. This has been going on forever.
I’m terribly sorry to babble but it seems to me that the only truth about what is is only through yourself. I’m just starting meditation now and have actually left my body for a short time. I was conscious and flew outside my window. I felt more love than ever. It was very powerful. I had at the time universal knowledge (I knew all the answers) I could feel the trees were alive and not just pieces of wood. This gave me the gift of knowing that there is an afterlife.
To my question…I’ve also heard the Occult to be evil. I never checked it out til now. I’m not looking for a religion but was just wondering it deals with meditation and astral travel, is their any goal to find a universal love anywhere? I know what I saw when I left my physical body and what I felt and learned. When I came back into my body, it was all gone. To know what I knew and feel what I felt will come about when I leave here. All of us I’d imagine. Is this the goal of the Occult astral projection? To find out things we can’t while in the physical? Or is it just to leave the body to better your life here? Or is it to worship Gods in the occult religion? I’m not looking for any Gods. My knowledge from leaving my body is that were all part of a great entity. I saw no one God but a great collection of souls that might have made up a God or powerful entity. I’m looking for methods of ways to exit my body to learn and not necessarily better my life here. Can your religion do this for me without me worshiping a diety? I’m not trying to bash yours or any religion at all. I don’t even know if the Occult worships any Gods. I’m sorry to go on, just wondering.
Thanks for letting me post several questions and thank you

    • Hey Randy,
Thanks for the comment.. I am not apart of a religion by this blog, i take no sides, the occult just represents the study of what we cannot see or fully understand which involves religion, astral projection, meditation and many more. Here we discuss the boundaries in a way.. Religion is the same as the occult as it entwines something that cannot be seen and is based on a belief of something that one has to trust in. Same as all religions, there is no right or wrong like you say, no right religion to me, just the good energy and bad energy whether religion is involved or not. To me by studying all religions and occult views one can see past all the crap that sometimes gets in the way of it all, yes there are spirits, yes there are things out there that blow my mind and others, yes there are other consciousnesses, other levels of thinking, symbols of power, symbols of belief, internal psychic power and all of the above.. Ghosts, paranormal etc..

By discussing all these topics we can devise theories, work out and try to understand ourselves better, our spirits or our own bodies, there is nothing evil in studying what is unknown otherwise every scientist or astrology expert would be in trouble, we are here, we are learning, we are experiencing life and its amazing things. To try to understand to me what is more real, the secret world behind all this is to better understand myself, better understand the world and to be good to others.. To me, that is the occult and is not evil or good, it is life..

  4. Personally I think its a good thing that most people see the occult as evil. The occult, is in fact truly NOT evil, though there certainly is a side of the occult that deals in black magic, demonology and practices that can leave you pretty messed up, but that does not represent the occult as a whole and for someone to condemn the occult so quickly without having any knowledge or understanding of it whatsoever is just plain foolish. It is clear the masses of religious folk are horribly misguided on the topic (and many other things), but it works out in mine and every occultist’s favor because well, theres less people that can take advantage of the hidden knowledge. Point being if everyone knew what the occult was really about then there wouldn’t be as great of advantage in having this knowledge. So let them be ignorant, it’s their choice afterall.

    • I think the reason why so many religious individuals view the occult as evil is because they spend so much time in their own little circles (or echo chamber) and so given that, they tend to label and smear or demonize something that they do not understand. Hence why they use terms like “satanic”, “evil”, “demonic”, “heresy” etc etc. That is also why so many of those people believe that anyone who questions the bible is a heretic. I have nothing against religious individuals and some of which are my friends and pretty reasonable people. I am not a religious person but I am someone who reads the Bible regularly and seeks to read religious scriptures of all kinds to see what they all have in common or what “the bigger picture” is. In short, I do not subscribe to any organized religion, nor am I an atheist that believes we are all just specks of dust floating in the universe with no life mission or life purpose (which is who I used to be), I am just a truth seeker.

    • Hey Jose,
Magic does have a cost but not a price as in money. Its price is related to the spell, if a good spell then good thus is returned, if negative in anyway then only bad can return. Any form of control is considered negative as well..

  6. Occult Magic is evil because it is used for control. I don’t see how it can be used for good because you use it to get something and if you want to get something it usually is for the good of yourself or someone you know. My take on this is to stay away from this. Stay away from watching movies like Harry Potter or any other movie depicting occult magic. Using or even watching occult magic can only harm your own being. All religions is by my own definition also occult or magic, if i wanted to control people and wanted them to please me i would start my own religion.

    • Hey Sjur,
The definition of the Occult is neither good nor bad but is referenced as the study of the unknown. In old days this may have been seen as bad, however now that we are in modern times just cause something is unknown means nothing bad. What makes the occult evil is this use of the unknown. It can be for good or bad and it can also be for self help.

Your a wise fellow, I think you get that the New Age exists in ALL facets of our society as sort of a mass apostate ritual.
Happy Halloween/All Saints day, I won’t be a demon or anything this pagan Halloween.

My point however is not flattery, its that because we are so corrupt as flesh, all earths people should acknowledge the Ten Commandments and the final two of Christ as being the only hope for physical life on this earth. Just look at its wisdom, how it protects the child, how it protects the family, the society.

Its all we have for dealing properly with the 3d world we all must admit we face. Or we can go live on a mountaintop and meditate, but then reproduction becomes impossible.

  9. Here is the most misunderstood and simple answer to all these questions that people love to complicate and deny. There is no denying this:

Fundamental Christianity, some in Islam and Judaism (Torah only) are outward or non-meditative faiths which have no “godhead” and where faith and good deeds provide reward and salvation for ascending to heaven. These religions do not agree on everything but that is in part because their hierarchies are corrupted. The family and the child benefit most from people and societies which truly practice this because they emphasis is not on inward personal ideas but by family, and deeds. The hierarchies in these faiths are non scriptural as are the human acts of evil.

New Age, Buddhism, Hinduism, Occult, Theosophy, Satanism, etc are everything internalized, meditative, the godhead is hierarchical, as is the caste, or initiate. On some level quasi Kabbalistic and Sacred geometrical (mantras) ideologies contribute to the ascension of the individual to a heaven on earth, Nirvana. Some call this illumination which may be more of an intellectual ascension. The concept of evil in many of these ideologies are heretical to biblical ideologies because deity (if it exists, some buddhists have no deity) is also evil in nature and therefore you start to see blurred interpretations of actions.

These two ideologies have been at war for some time. Christianity actually foretells its own destruction by the inverse belief system of it.

What makes the occult and connected ideologies considered “evil” is not based on the occult being heretical to Torah Jews and Christians, although that is partly why. More importantly The Ten Commandments and the prophesies and teachings of Christ state that the occult empowerment cannot be handled by humans because they will be corrupted. This corruption is evident in the extreme occult devotion and heretical, destructive deeds of much of the world leaders etc. The worship of the planets and physical universe is considered the worship of the demiurgus or “god of forces” and is not the God that sent Christ.
Daniel 11:36-38 states “And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.”

To dig into the subject with more deeply I will quote Theosophist Madam Blavatsky, so there is no rebuttal possible: Blavatsky says: “Satan, or Lucifer, represents the active … “Centrifugal Energy of the Universe” in a cosmic sense … Fitly is he … and his adherents … consigned to the “sea of fire,” because it is the Sun … the fount of life in our system, where they are petrified … and churned up to re-arrange them for another life; that Sun which, as the origin of the active principle of our Earth, is at once the Home and the Source of the Mundane Satan …
    – The Secret Doctrine, Volume I, page 414, Vol II, pgs. 234, 235, 243, 245

Here is an extended study of this topic of King-despot, occult hierarchy and the moral implications of the “god of forces”

People need to figure out for themselves what their intentions, actions, habits, and ideologies actually mean and make sure they live their beliefs. Much of Plato’s republic is considered for being put into practice in higher levels of secret societies. Don’t take my word for it, study these things and learn for yourself. The New World Order is Plato’s Republic mixed with Huxley’s Humanism.

Make sure you know what you want and what you believe.

    • Lots of comments Carl, better if you keep it more summarized for the other peoples comments. I see you use the bible as evidence for advice, this is more so a guide book written by humans. It was written during a time where wars were fought over what religion was best, heck there is still war over it.. The Occult is not bad either, many just see it the wrong way, in fact the bible is the Occult as it is a book written about the hidden and unknown. That is the definition of the Occult, study of the unknown.. Not study of bad or evil in anyway.. Space, ufos, the bible, religion are all the same.. Life after death, all Occult thoughts , same as religion theories.. As like all other religions, it is all much the same.. Be good and good will come to you and be bad and bad will come to you.. positive thought and positive response, negative response, negative response..

Regards and have a nice day hey..

I don’t necessarily agree with everything dark is saying but you keep trying to make this a semantic argument over what the word “occult” means. Sure. You’re right occult just means hidden. But if you buy any book that has occult written on it’s spine it will likely be on the topics carl is talking about. You know what he means. And it’s mostly evil.

  10. When you look at the suffering Religion has forced on mankind, eg. wars, the conditioning of slavery, I doubt there is anything Occult can do to compare to Religion with it’s ability to ferment disorder on this planet.

    • Hey Mark,
Occult just means the search for answers and truth to questions in life, there is nothing evil or bad associated to the word. As an example looking at stars or star gazing is Occult study such as Astronomy. Science for truths is Occult study.

I will agree though that through time ( history ) the control aspects of many religions has been used to control the masses and cause a lot of harm in the world. It still unfortunately happens today. Hopefully those aspects of harm religious organisations cause on many people will pass in future as mankind moves into more intelligent times.

  12. Hidden knowledge should be sought, not feared and forbidden. That’s how elites get an upper hand on humanity. Throughout most of human history, only a small group was literate. The elites could communicate in code, while peasants were oblivious. The same elites probably convinced us hidden knowledge was evil. Well of course! If we obtain the same information, the elites risk being usurped. How can we trust history, science, etc, when so many people couldn’t understand their cryptic messages? Even today we witness massive censorship by the hands of a few. What are they so afraid of? Hidden knowledge. If you discovered a plant that cured ailments, but you also owned banks media and pharmaceutical companies, would you release that info to the public? No way! Let serfs take the pills, while elites use medicine that actually works. Ask anyone who works in compartmentalized fields. I know one personally. He told me the things he witnessed would blow my mind. Yet he honors his NDA.

That was my biggest realization especially after the events that happened the past 2 1/2 to 3 years. If something was so absolutely true (like religion or what happened on 9/11), there would be absolutely NOBODY questioning it on their own. Like it says in the Declaration of Independence: truth is self evident. Just like if everything about the C bug was true, there would not be any scientists, doctors or anyone else questioning the narrative. Have a good one brother.
